FIELD NOTES / HOW IT WORKS

The mystery ends.
The rules don’t change.

Mystery Drop is Veilpad’s first launch format. One market, 20 minutes under wraps, then the reveal.

Fixed launch termsPublic mechanics
AT LAUNCH

A direct route to the market.

One launch transaction creates the token and its token-only pool.

The creator prepares the final name, ticker, description, artwork and links. The launch transaction creates an ERC-20 with an initial supply of exactly 1 billion and a token-only Uniswap v4 liquidity position on Robinhood Chain in one transaction.

The starting pool holds tokens, with zero ETH required to seed the position. Buyers bring ETH through swaps. Gas is still required. Every drop targets a fixed 5 ETH opening valuation before any dev buy. The factory enforces the native Uniswap v4 starting-price boundary; tick rounding is less than 0.6%. No USD price feed is needed. This is a valuation, not 5 ETH of reserves or funds raised.

OPTIONAL / PAID IN ETH

Your first buy, with your launch.

One transaction creates the pool, buys tokens with ETH, and sends the net tokens to the creator.

Choose no dev buy or up to 2% of initial supply received after fees. All tokens enter the liquidity position first; the creator then pays ETH to buy from that pool in the same transaction. There is no reserved allocation or extra mint. The exact ETH cost is shown before wallet approval.

The dev buy pays the same 50–53% opening fee and any configured Shadow burn. It moves the pool price; 5 ETH is the opening valuation before this trade. The 2% cap applies only to this bundled launch buy, not later purchases or total wallet holdings.

Trading starts as soon as the launch confirms. There is no sell lock, reveal lock or waiting period. The first buy brings ETH into the token-only pool; sells exchange tokens for the available ETH. Quotes include fees and price impact. Trades must fit the available liquidity and your minimum received. Token approval and gas are still required.

00:00 → 20:00

Give the mystery twenty minutes.

Final identity sealed. Supply, fees, creator and time visible.

Each token begins as Mystery Drop #number, with a unique MYSTnumber ticker. The chain exposes the creator, supply, market terms, commitment and reveal time. The final name, ticker, artwork and story remain offchain.

A random salt makes the committed identity difficult to guess. The commitment binds the exact name, ticker and metadata URI to the creator, chain and factory. Putting plaintext behind a “private” contract variable would not hide it.

AFTER THE 20-MINUTE GATE

The same token. Now with a name.

After the time gate, a confirmed transaction opens the committed identity.

The contract allows a reveal only at or after 1,200 seconds from launch. A reveal worker must submit the matching identity and salt. Anyone with the exact committed package can relay it after the gate, which provides a recovery path if the primary worker is unavailable.

The token address, supply, balances, pool and liquidity remain unchanged. The new identity is permanent. No relaunch, token migration or second purchase is needed.

Time makes a reveal eligible. A transaction completes it.

Scheduled automation is required for automatic reveals. If it is delayed, trading can continue under the mystery identity until the reveal confirms. Wallets and market indexers may cache names and refresh later.

THE MARKET RULES

Hidden identity. Visible terms.

Supply
At most 1,000,000,000 tokens at launch. No additional minting. The ceiling is fixed; current supply can decrease with Shadow Mode. Standard launches have no swap burns.
Initial allocation
100% assigned to the pool; integer-rounding dust remains locked in the factory. No creator token reserve.
LP principal
No withdrawal function in the initial factory-owned position.
Trading fee
1% required, plus 0–3% chosen by the creator. Veilpad receives 65% of the base 1% (0.65%); the creator receives 0.35% plus the extra not assigned to Shadow Mode. Any portion of the optional 0–3% can be burned on buys and sells. After two minutes, the combined fee is at most 4%. During Sniper Mode, the base starts at 50% and decays to 1%, with optional extras unchanged: up to 53% at launch. The schedule is immutable.
Fee claims
The cash portion is converted onchain and credited immediately in ETH. Each recipient withdraws only their own balance. The Shadow share is burned in the swap itself. There is no separate LP trading fee. Voluntary pool donations may be collected separately.
Identity changes
One committed reveal. No editing after reveal.
Transfers
No transfer tax, allowlist or platform transfer blacklist.

“Fair market” describes open access and the allocation rules. It does not guarantee equal execution, protect against bots or MEV, or prevent a creator from sharing their identity privately. The creator already knows what they are launching.

SPLIT, BURN, THEN CLAIM

Know where every share goes.

0.65% goes to Veilpad. The creator keeps 0.35% plus unallocated extras. Shadow tokens are burned.

The mandatory 1% splits into 0.65% for Veilpad and 0.35% for the creator. Add 0–3%, then allocate any portion of that extra to Shadow Mode in 0.01% increments. For a 4% total fee with 2% Shadow: Veilpad gets 0.65%, the creator gets 1.35%, and 2% is burned. The extra and Shadow allocation cannot change after launch. The mandatory base follows the Sniper schedule below.

All portions use the same token basis: gross token output on buys and gross token input on sells. Fees and burn amounts round down to the smallest token unit; remaining fee dust goes to the creator. Shadow trades too small to burn one unit revert. Only collected fee tokens are burned; other holders’ balances are not confiscated. Claiming does not withdraw the original liquidity.

SNIPER MODE / EVERY LAUNCH

Two minutes. One falling base fee.

Illustration: the base decays over 120 seconds. Optional creator and Shadow fees stay fixed.

At launch the base fee is 50%. It decreases linearly by the second to 1% at 120 seconds, on buys and sells. Veilpad receives 65% of that base and the creator receives 35%. The optional 0–3% is added throughout; its creator and Shadow allocation never changes.

With 3% extra, the total starts at 53%, is 28.5% at one minute, and reaches 4% at two minutes. With 2% Shadow inside that extra, the opening split is 32.5% Veilpad, 18.5% creator and 2% burned. Creator/platform cash portions are converted together and paid in ETH. The schedule cannot be disabled, extended or reset. Separate pools and ordinary transfers are outside this hook.

The displayed rate is an estimate; the chain timestamp determines execution. The trade quote includes the current fee and the minimum received protects your swap. Sniper Mode raises early trading costs; it does not guarantee bot exclusion.

SHADOW MODE

The supply can only go down.

Illustration: a chosen share of each buy and sell permanently lowers total supply. No burn wallet. No extra fee.

The token contract issues exactly 1 billion tokens once at launch and exposes no further minting. With Shadow Mode, the pool hook collects the chosen fee in tokens and calls a true burn: the ERC-20 totalSupply decreases. This is not a transfer to a dead address. Supply and cumulative burns are visible in the market.

Burns continue after the 20-minute identity reveal. They apply to buys and sells in the registered launch pool, not ordinary transfers or separate pools. The reveal itself never changes supply. A lower supply does not guarantee a higher price.

The hook supports full-fill, exact-input swaps. It rejects exact-output and partial fills. The router prefunds both directions so immediate burns and ETH conversion can settle, including the first buy. Each conversion uses the same pool and adds gas and price impact. Quotes simulate that conversion. If Uniswap introduces an additional protocol fee, swaps fail closed rather than exceeding the advertised budget. Network gas remains separate.

CURRENT BUILD

Launch activation.

Wallet connection, launch signing, encrypted identity storage, market discovery, swap quotes, transaction submission and fee claims are integrated. Shadow Mode contracts are tested against a real Uniswap v4 PoolManager on a local chain.

Production launches remain gated until the treasury and deployed contracts are configured and a funded reveal service is running. WalletConnect requires the platform’s Reown project ID. Contracts have not undergone an independent security audit.

Independent project. No affiliation with Robinhood or Uniswap.
